Steps to getting vaccinated

Make an appointment

You can make an appointment at pharmacies, health care providers, and other local sites here.

What to Bring with You

Your ID card and health insurance card are necessary to bring with you only if you have them.

You do not need an ID or health insurance card to receive the vaccine, and the vaccine is free for everyone.

During Your Appointment

Please wait outside the center until your vaccination appointment. Remember to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

You will receive information about when and how to book your second vaccination appointment. If you receive the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, you need two doses of the same type of vaccine to be fully protected. Try to receive your second dose at the same location as your first dose. If you receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you will only receive one dose.

* The FDA has authorized and the CDC is recommending that immunocompromised individuals who received an mRNA vaccine should receive a third dose of that same vaccine. The Biden Administration is planning on rolling out third doses beginning the week of September 20, 2021. Massachusetts is planning on administering the booster shots in phases, similar to that as the original vaccine rollout.
